Le Pont de Bir-Hakeim, Paris

4.5
#314 of 1,994 in Things to do in Paris
Formerly the pont de Passy, Le Pont de Bir-Hakeim is a steel bridge that crosses the Seine River in Paris and is the second bridge to have stood at this site. You can enjoy this site using two levels--one for motor vehicles and one for pedestrians.

If you’re looking for some history, look for the central arch of the viaduct. The arch is decorated with four monumental stone statues, including figures of Science and Labor by Jules-Felix Coutan, and Electricity and Commerce by Jean Antoine Injalbert. Attend at night to enjoy the line of glowing street lights on Le Pont de Bir-Hakeim. Also keep in mind that many movies have featured this bridge, such as Last Tango in Paris and Inception. • Double-Decker bridge over the virachem bridge on the downstream side of the Eiffel Tower, Metro line 6, under the cars and pedestrians across the top as is has. On the island of the swans, a sandbank in the river Seine, on the stairs down from the middle of the bridge. Egypt places with virachem, is one of the fierce battle of the second war. Ottoman buildings located on the right bank of the bridge is very nice.

  • This is a movie that fully inspires inception's Dream Bridge, and it's interesting to go through the movie scene, and it's only six minutes from the Paris tower to the back of Metro. It's not wrong to shoot the Eiffel Tower from the bridge.

  • Day and night, its beauty will not let you indifferent. The bridge is very popular for the shootings of all kinds but also for shooting film.

  • We are so happy that this place was recommended to us. We would have focused on visiting other places, but this bridge ended up being one of our favourites. It has a beautiful view of Paris, including the Eiffel tower and Seine. The bridge itself is probably the most beautiful bridge I've ever seen. It is very photogenic and lovely. The traffic can be pretty heavy on the bridge, so be very careful especially when you're caught up taking pictures.
  • Offering stunning scenic and panoramic views of the city of Paris along the Seine, the bridge is a really nice walk to experience. It’s open 24/7 and is really beautiful at any time of the day, especially during sunrise or sunset when the sun reflects against the Paris skyline or at night when the skyline is all lit up. Its proximity to all the main attractions of the city of Paris, makes it a prime location for those spending time in the city. Though it’s nice for a leisurely walk, at times, especially when the weather gets nicer and warmer, the walkway may become crowded with people, since there are both walkers and cyclers crossing the bridge, so it may not be that favorable to some for a walk during that time. Also, the bridge can get cold during the winter as well as in the beginning of spring. Overall, bridge is stunning, and is a great opportunity for photos!
  • The bridge on its own is magnificent, beautiful at any time of the day (or night) and a good place to experience that Paris is not everywhere stressful and can be a calm city. While this is not necessarily one of the most iconic places in Paris, it provides an unique view of the Eiffel Tower, unmatched at night. The walk along the Allée des Cygnes is breathtaking both in winter (when it feels a bit gloomy) and summer (when it lights up).
  • One of the best views of eiffel tower is from Bir-Hakeim and the good thing is that not many people know this. So even when some places closer to eiffel tower is always very crowded this is always empty. Only the photographer and photo shoot people understand the importance of this place and hence they are the ones who clicking pictures here. Overall the bridge is also quite beautiful to see.
  • A very famous bridge, a beautiful architecture. My advice, go at sunrise and during night to enjoy the awesome nightlight of the city and the Eiffel Tower.
