  • The Maison La Roche is a must see for anyone interested in the history of modern architecture and urban design. However, for the general visitor it may be of limited interest. It is one of the first t...  more »
  • We came with great enthusiasm as students of architecture that we are and no doubt was a great disappointment, not by the House itself, but by the treatment received. The woman responsible for the House was not very kind with us. He had no interest in resolving any doubt that is raised you.

  • Hidden inside an enclosed courtyard surrounded by nineteenth century buildings and liberty, the villa stands on the bottom of the street, constituting element of breaking still fits in perfectly with the environment. The visit is accompanied by brochures delivered to the entry.

  • If compared to villa savoy I prefer villa savoye. Anyway of course you find all the main characteristics by Le Corbusier. Pillars, full line of Windows, space segragated with a cathedral entrance.
  • Really cool experience of entering a Le Corbusier house. It is better to go with someone that understand architecture as the tours are not frequent
  • I am a total architecture "geek", so this is not coming from an uneducated perspective. While other reviews indicate that the guided tour may be worth it, I was completely disappointed in the whole thing. It's dreary, claustrophobic, and badly maintained with nothing apart from a brochure with B&W pictures to give a sense as to what it might have been like while inhabited. Not worth the time, expense or trouble.
  • World Heritage Site
  • Modern architecture from the 1920s. The Lady at the door seems a bit overworked and therefore less customer friendly.

Where to stay in Paris

Each of the city’s 20 arrondissements, or districts, has a personality all its own. If you prefer high-end accommodations and to be in the middle of the action, look for lodging in the 1st through the 4th arrondissements. For more affordable lodging and access to major metro lines, try the 12th. The Oberkampf area of the 11th arrondissement has an edgier, more hip vibe. For easy access to tourist sites,  the 16th is within a stone’s throw of the Arc de Triomph and the Eiffel Tower, and the 17th is within walking distance to the Champs-Elysées. Avoid the 18th, 19th, and 20th, because these can be dangerous, especially if you’re not familiar with the city.
