  • I completely agree with the previous reviewer - the chocolate is delicious; the working space is fascinating; but even one small piece of chocolate to taste would have added to the experience.  more »
  • Pricey chocolate, but worth a visit, to watch the workers making this excellent chocolate and to buy exclusives. Would be even better if they gave free tastes!  more »
  • Grand... At a street corner, you enter a magical world... Mr Ducasse does not do things halfway, it is beautifully decorated, wood is master, chocolate is everywhere... absolute temptation. The staff is professional and very sharp... There is something for all tastes, praline, dark, milk, white, hazelnuts and other marvels. You are forced to leave with a souvenir that will be fleeting because very quickly tasted...

  • This is the best chocolate in the world. And the store is beautiful.
  • Best chocolate ever. Ever.
  • Love the chocolate here and always pick some up when I'm in the area. Prices are high, as can be expected by the name.
  • We are huge fans of Alain Ducasse, having dined at Alain Ducasse at The Dorchester Hotel in London and Alain Ducasse at The Plaza Athenee in Paris so when we stumbled upon his chocolate store, we had to stop by. The store is beautifully setup and in Alain Ducasse fashion, presentation and detail were top notch. We ended up buying a bag of chocolate cocoa ($18 euros) for hot chocolate as a present for my mother in law. Again, in Alain Ducasse fashion, the prices are not cheap but the quality is always there.
  • I've been writing about chocolate for 8 years and was excited to visit Alain Ducasse. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend it. The atmosphere in the shop is typically old-fashioned French - in a nutshell, it's intimidating and pretentious. We explained to the staff that we were press and wanted to write about Ducasse, but the staff were rude and dismissive. They wouldn't let us take photos at all - either of the shop or the factory, and couldn't really explain the products. Having bought some of the bean to bar chocolate to eat later, I was shocked to discover that it had been made with mouldy cocoa beans and was entirely inedible. I don't know how it managed to end up on sale without any kind of quality control. It's an understatement to say I was disappointed. There is plenty of fabulous chocolate in Paris, but unless and until they get their act together, this is a place to avoid.
