Lavinia Paris, Paris

3.6
#72 of 308 in Shopping in Paris
Opened in 2002, Lavinia Paris is the largest wine-and-spirits store in Europe and a charm of Paris. Spread over three floors near place de la Madeleine, you can browse more than 3,000 brands of French wine and spirits along with more than 2,000 brands from other parts of the world, which makes this shop a unique gem among wine sellers in France.

A simple lunch-only restaurant is on-site as well as a tasting bar. Prices are reasonable and, even if wines in the shop can be somewhat predictable, you will always be happy to find a good Richard Leroy, Fleurie from Pierre-Marie Chermette, or some other famous names. A visit to Lavinia Paris represents just the start of the adventure when you use our Paris trip itinerary maker website to plot your vacation.

  • Paris remains paris. The chance of the city is that you can swing to one restaurant to another with a lot of discoveries. Lavinia' restaurant is driven by Gilles. This man isn't also a wine lover but ...  more »
  • If you are a wine geek like me is this wine shop is a must. You can taste (payment) you can see and there is someone who would like to speak with you and knows what he's talking about. Champagne was proposed by cheap art that was just where I had expressed to my taste it was. ... FANTASTIC. Åhhhh God it was heaven to go around between all the great wines

  • Great variety of wines. Service is excellent ! You can still find good wine at reasonable price!!
  • The shop is not really attractive but they have loads of products and the staff is really helpful.
  • Amazing find. I ordered a Caesar Salad which looked nothing like a regular one. It was like ordering the Rolls Royce of Caesar Salads
  • Moreau expansive than other shops but large and excellent choice of wine and spirits
  • Good selection of wines but mainly expansive ones. World wines selection and grand cru wine available by glass if you're ready to spend upward of 40 euro for a glass of wine.

Where to stay in Paris

Each of the city’s 20 arrondissements, or districts, has a personality all its own. If you prefer high-end accommodations and to be in the middle of the action, look for lodging in the 1st through the 4th arrondissements. For more affordable lodging and access to major metro lines, try the 12th. The Oberkampf area of the 11th arrondissement has an edgier, more hip vibe. For easy access to tourist sites,  the 16th is within a stone’s throw of the Arc de Triomph and the Eiffel Tower, and the 17th is within walking distance to the Champs-Elysées. Avoid the 18th, 19th, and 20th, because these can be dangerous, especially if you’re not familiar with the city.
