La Gaîté Lyrique, Paris
(3.5/5 based on 25+ reviews on the web)
After a 10 year revamp, La Gaîté Lyrique has been turned into Paris’s first ever digital cultural center. Come and explore this seven-floor multidisciplinary concert hall that invites you into the realms of digital art, music, graphics, film, fashion, design, and video games. The resource center also presents workshops, educational courses, and training in information retrieval.

Its program explores the relatively unchartered territory of digital art and the role of technology in artistic expression with displays such as electronic music concerts, live multimedia performances, guest appearances by famous international artists and DJs, and film projections. You can even just drop by for a decent cup of coffee and a flit through the magazines. Plan your visit to La Gaîté Lyrique and a wealth of other attractions, well-known and undiscovered, using our Paris travel itinerary maker.

  • What's the point of such a place for the average visitor, I am? NO ONE! Instead of opening the digital world to the greatest number, programming in psycho-geek-wacky titles (we're to BOBOLAND but still!) more often turns to a very sophisticated audience, where ambience for the less monastic for people who as me would be interested but that surrender account that they failed in the middle of a forum for gender specialists who speak with their codes. This place is ultimately the Tote of the most cutting edge culture (and especially the more "boring") transfigurative and disconnected from the real! And so who cares if it does not bring "normauw" people better understand digital that surrounds them, or to provide access to the culture and understanding especially at the younger! In this sense the Exploradôme of Vitry-sur-Seine is a success story, we go there regularly with your family, even if we are Parisian and the Gaîté Lyrique is 2 steps from us! A shame!

  • In the heart of Paris, a very good concert hall. Perfect soundproofing. We came for the Festival of InRocks lab Michelle Blades and Agar Agar well warmed the room.

  • We saw a beautiful exhibition on ghosts. Modern, tinged with digital. Of 11 and 14-year-olds loved (attention to not get trapped in the shop because we spend 2 times before: by entering and exiting). My flat will be the price of €7.50 we were 5, rate not reduced, it still makes a ticket.

  • Great contemporary art and social place. Known for having a great selection of artists and events. Possibility to have a drink and to work from a computer in the coffee place or in the library, access to a small but well selected library.
  • One of the most interesting places in Paris. Experimental video games floor on top.. usually good exhibitions. great place to come and work with a laptop.
  • Interesting exhibits on everything ICT. Good source of documentation and great spaces.
  • Love this place, where you can see exhibitions, play video games, study or drink coffee.
  • Superbe endroit
