L'île aux Cygnes, Paris

4.2
#5 of 7 in Nature in Paris
Discover a small, unique escape from the city at L'île aux Cygnes, an artificial island in the middle of the Seine. The narrow islet mostly consists of a tree-lined walkway where you can jog, stroll, or simply people-watch from one of the benches. At the end of the path stands a Statue of Liberty, a one-fourth scale replica of its larger relative in New York City. Nearby, look out for the public workout space and playground tucked under the Grennelle Bridge. For travelers who use our online itinerary creator, Paris holidays become easier to arrange, with trips to the L'île aux Cygnes and other attractions mapped out and timetabled.

Few people know that in Paris there is a copy of the masterpiece of Bartholdi who is located in New York City. worth a visit anyway on the Seine.

Away from the Parisian traffic, beautiful alley of trees only downside: big dogs at large bark and hinder the passage of pedestrians

Where to stay in Paris

Each of the city’s 20 arrondissements, or districts, has a personality all its own. If you prefer high-end accommodations and to be in the middle of the action, look for lodging in the 1st through the 4th arrondissements. For more affordable lodging and access to major metro lines, try the 12th. The Oberkampf area of the 11th arrondissement has an edgier, more hip vibe. For easy access to tourist sites,  the 16th is within a stone’s throw of the Arc de Triomph and the Eiffel Tower, and the 17th is within walking distance to the Champs-Elysées. Avoid the 18th, 19th, and 20th, because these can be dangerous, especially if you’re not familiar with the city.
