(4.6/5 based on 460+ reviews on the web)
Cardinal de Richelieu, the prime minister for King Louis XIII, commissioned the construction of the palace surrounding Jardin du Palais Royal in 1629. These gardens, enclosed within the walls of the palace, were first opened to the public in the 18th century. There are numerous restaurants inside the gardens, including famous Le Grand Véfour. Seek out the controversial modern art piece Colonnes de Buren, installed within the interior courtyard. • For a moment out of time, to discover and why not hear the small bronze Cannon each Wednesday at noon as in 1786. and the Buren columns so often criticized, with now a photo exhibition presenting the most beautiful achievements of french architects overseas. Superb! Free access every day from 8: 00 to 20: 00.

  • One can easily spend next to the Royal Palace, of the Court, of its prestigious buildings, when visiting Paris. Yet, these places are worth visiting, including the very harmonious and peaceful garden of the Royal Palace, landlocked in the buildings of the seventeenth century, which house the Comédie Française, the Constitutional Council, the Ministry of Culture, etc... This perfectly maintained garden is a haven of peace in the heart of the city.
