Admire the vast collection of plants at Jardin des serres d'Auteuil, a botanical garden set within a major greenhouse complex. The greenhouses were constructed from 1895-1898, and today they produce approximately 100,000 plants per year for the interiors of municipal buildings. Admire the exhibits of palm trees, succulents, and tropical plants. The garden also features a collection of rare plants and an aviary. Un endroit dépaysant et atypique en plein Paris ! Il est juste dommage que les serres ne soient plus toutes en accès libre, mais on peut néanmoins demander à des jardinier d'ouvrir.Somewhere exotic and unusual in Paris! It's just a shame that the greenhouses are all free, but we can nevertheless ask the gardener to open.show original
We took my grandchildren, 3 and 1.5, along in their pushchair. After a walk in the lovely Botanical Gardens with the attraction of a Poets' Corner, and a play in the playground, we warmed up in the beautiful, antique greenhouses. These were full of lush, tropical plants, there was a pond full of gold fish and an aviary, which fascinated the children. There were very few other visitors and these were mostly young people enjoying the opportunities to photograph themselves.
What a beautiful park with all maintained and looked after greenhouses full of a wide variety of plant species.
