Hotel de Soubise, Paris

4.6
A grand mansion in Paris's third arrondissement built for the Prince and Princess of Soubise now houses Hotel de Soubise. The archives museum features significant government documents, as well as changing exhibits. Visit the iron chest, home to all versions of the French constitution from the original of 1791 to the present day. Browse French government materials and international documents detailing France's foreign relations. The building itself is worth a trip to view both the Rococo-style interior and the well-manicured gardens outside the Baroque mansion. • Very thorough presentation with handouts on resistance from officials in the face of the occupier, of their ingenuity see bravery. The restored the Prince and the Princess of Soubise rooms are the icing on the cake. Especially the gardens don't full "Marais" offer, which wants, a haven of peace and serenity. It's one of these moments full of sense of truth.

  • In Paris, the Musée des Archives nationales looked only to explore closer magnificent Soubise Mansion (Hôtel de Soubise), built as far back as the 14th century for the Duke de Giza ... True, de Soubise remained only gates, and building, which we examined in detail, was constructed, reconstructed, in year 1705 architect Delamerom. No less impressive looks and Rohan Mansion (Hôtel de Rohan), also built in the 18th century ... Summary: be sure to check out the Musée des Archives nationales during their Parisian walks.

  • The street of Francs-Bourgeois National Archives regularly offer exciting exhibitions that allow to revisit this beautiful hotel of the 18th which shows are home to the most beautiful decoration in carved wood and stucco of this era. But what is more pleasant is once entered through the large courtyard and its colonnade of the Francs-Bourgeois Street, turn right, and go into the first of the 3 landscaped gardens that join. The first immediately right revolves around a small pool with a meta sudans and a small jet. The vegetation is a smart choice of perfect plants for the shade. By continuing, you see another square whose flowering changes regularly, it is usually masses of one color (blue, purple, or red rose), we have another square surrounded by beautiful roses, an alley lined with benches and vegetation to the gray-green tones. The lawn surrounded by pines and plane trees in front of the magnificent façade and Classic Hotel (which comes to be restored) and out through the street of the four wires extending into the Pearl Street! The gardens are wonderful. This is usually fairly quiet. It is a romantic place to desire.

  • There is the rest of the door of the Clisson hotel which is one of the few remnants of the 14 th century architecture at 58. The hotel is called Clisson, of Guise, and the name of its successive owners Soubise. This building is one of the first to be built after the building of the walls of Charles 5. Construction continues in the 16 th century with the Guise family and warned of beautiful Renaissance stained glass windows. In 1700, François de Rohan, prince of Soubise bought and transformed the hotel into a real small Palace through the charms that his wife has on Louis 14. There are currently in the Museum of the history of France of period pieces and an exhibition of manuscripts retracing the unification of the Kingdom since the middle - ages. In the past, I had the opportunity to attend summer in magnificent performances outdoor Marivau parts or other authors.

Where to stay in Paris

Each of the city’s 20 arrondissements, or districts, has a personality all its own. If you prefer high-end accommodations and to be in the middle of the action, look for lodging in the 1st through the 4th arrondissements. For more affordable lodging and access to major metro lines, try the 12th. The Oberkampf area of the 11th arrondissement has an edgier, more hip vibe. For easy access to tourist sites,  the 16th is within a stone’s throw of the Arc de Triomph and the Eiffel Tower, and the 17th is within walking distance to the Champs-Elysées. Avoid the 18th, 19th, and 20th, because these can be dangerous, especially if you’re not familiar with the city.
