Galerie Vivienne, Paris

(4.5/5 based on 200+ reviews on the web)
With architectutal beauty and classy shopping tied into one, Galerie Vivienne is a restored 19th century covered passage created with glass roofs, mosaic-tiled floors, and hand-carved wood. It makes the perfect spot for you to rest and enjoy tea and snacks from the residing shops, which could also take some time to explore. For example, check out A Priori Thé, a classic Paris tea salon, or Legrand Filles & Fils with its delicate chocolates and other candies plus a wine cellar that’s considered a piece of heaven by wine connoisseurs.

Clothing and household furnishing shops also fill the passageway. If you’re traveling with children, Si Tu Veux is considered one of the best toy stores in Europe. Plan your Galerie Vivienne visit and explore what else you can see and do in Paris using our Paris vacation planner.

  • Enter this Gallery makes you feel that you've regressed to the last century. Really a lovely place very well maintained with beautiful business.

  • Galerie Vivienne is a very beautiful place to visit, for the stores that are there but especially for the beauty of the Gallery, with mosaic floors, closing up and for its history. Exiting from the least of the Gallery, just turned right, I found a small shop without insignia. Nothing attracts attention, there are only old books on offer at 1 €. Walked out of curiosity, we discovered that the store sells old maps, engravings, woodcuts etc. .. Very nice but too expensive. I wanted to report for fans of the genre. Unfortunately, even asking the lady who runs with her husband, the store does not have a name but I hope my suggestions will be useful to track him, is in rue Vivienne, in front of the national library.

  • Nearby close to the Royal Palace, the Vivienne Gallery offers a haven of peace and a nice trip back in time to the Paris Walker. His crossing is an exceptional moment and it gives off a very calm and delicate atmosphere. On the ground of beautiful colored mosaics and when we look up, large bright windows... The shops are quite typical: wineries, old books, tea salons. A nice time though.

  • The Galerie Vivienne is a gem all on its own, especially when the weather is bad. Keep an eye out for the specialty shops in the area just surrounding this galerie, including Derville shoes, NOXA, and the Galeries du Palais Royal.
  • Very charming covered passage with a marvellous old bookshop and beautiful mosaic tiles on the floor.
  • It is a great place to photograph. And if you get lucky you can even get into the famous staircase.
  • Beautiful historic shopping arcade and one of the main landmarks in Paris. Worth a visit.
  • Some merchants, restaurants, really cute 'galerie'.
