Where to stay in Paris

Each of the city’s 20 arrondissements, or districts, has a personality all its own. If you prefer high-end accommodations and to be in the middle of the action, look for lodging in the 1st through the 4th arrondissements. For more affordable lodging and access to major metro lines, try the 12th. The Oberkampf area of the 11th arrondissement has an edgier, more hip vibe. For easy access to tourist sites,  the 16th is within a stone’s throw of the Arc de Triomph and the Eiffel Tower, and the 17th is within walking distance to the Champs-Elysées. Avoid the 18th, 19th, and 20th, because these can be dangerous, especially if you’re not familiar with the city.

  • The La Fontaine Moliere is a nice small fountain located at the intersection of Rue Richelieu and Rue Moliere. Erected as a monument for Moliere (the French playwright), it was built in the 18 hundred...  more »
  • It's an easily missed monument that is located on the corner of rue Molière and rue de Richelieu near the Palais Royal and Comédie Française. You'll miss it if you don't take a detour down rue de Rich...  more »
  • An architectural and historical point, this classic style fountain made in the 19th century has little interest, so it is similar to many others in the genre. I would even say that its massive form with the statue of Molière, the illustrated man perched too high, is unsightly; It's a partisan point of view, I admit, but I don't like any more the famous fountain at the Chambéry Elephants or the Central Statue of the Bastille square. Firefighter art. However she has a strange effect of astonishment by his atypical situation, apply back two buildings forming the sharp angle of the narrow street of Richelieu and rue Molière. In this sense it is useful as a "street furniture"!

  • Nice fontaine to visit if you are in the area but I wouldn't go there specially to see the place, unless you are a very big fan of moliere...
  • Story. Tourism.
