Espace Dalí, Paris

3.9
#2 of 9 in Childrens Museums in Paris
Espace Dalí holds a collection of the great Surrealist artist's often overlooked sculptural works. This more an homage to the artist than a serious museum, with the majority of works reproductions. To find it, head up to Sacré-Cœur and stand facing it and take a left. Keep your eye out for small Dali signs. With our world travel planner, Paris attractions like Espace Dalí can be center stage of your vacation plans, and you can find out about other attractions like it, unlike it, near it, and miles away.

  • Not knowing nothing specific on Dali, I enjoyed the guided tour by the Cultival Agency. interesting and complete presentation! The works are well staged and we can get very close. I definitely don't like surrealism!

  • Would highly recommend this attraction to anyone who's a fan of art, surrealism, or Dalí. A good collection of works, very interesting. The attraction also has a gift shop, and a gallery where works c...  more »

  • This space is well-organized! The display if works and histories give you an intimate portrait of the artist and his works. Although most of the major, more famous works are missing, they are included in the detail pieces and histories. We spent over two hours there in the small space which obviously had the hand of the artist in its creation.
  • Love Dali and this is a good selection of statuary and minor paintings, most of what would be considered his masterpieces are hanging in major museums elsewhere in the world. So 4 not 5 stars. But, there are signed lithos for sale and it is an intimate and interesting museum and worth the trip. Included with the Paris Pass.
  • Went with family, it was definitely the highlight of our trip. The exhibits were stunning and intriguing. Dali is such a genius, and the information posters and labels were extremely helpful for the uninitiated. Staff was wonderful and so patient with us, being tourists and all.
  • I don't think it was worth it. It is a pretty small space with a couple sculptures and a bunch of prints. Nothing original and no paintings. You could probably do just as well by taking a book on Dali from your local library. And there are plenty of better museums in Paris.
  • A small but pleasing gallery on Dali's life and works. There are some sculptures but no paintings. The gift shop is tacky and terrible with nothing good to buy.

Where to stay in Paris

Each of the city’s 20 arrondissements, or districts, has a personality all its own. If you prefer high-end accommodations and to be in the middle of the action, look for lodging in the 1st through the 4th arrondissements. For more affordable lodging and access to major metro lines, try the 12th. The Oberkampf area of the 11th arrondissement has an edgier, more hip vibe. For easy access to tourist sites,  the 16th is within a stone’s throw of the Arc de Triomph and the Eiffel Tower, and the 17th is within walking distance to the Champs-Elysées. Avoid the 18th, 19th, and 20th, because these can be dangerous, especially if you’re not familiar with the city.
