  • Great place! I only went to the museum. Good information provided and amazing machines and historical registers
  • I loved the Musee--Hollywood has no sense of history and this is one of the best collections of movie material I have ever seen! From equipment (and costume) used by Melies and the Lumiere brothers through Film Noir, the museum shows you the history of film through equipment, costume, and film. There is a remarkable replica of the Metropolis Robot built by the man who made the original; storyboards from Cabinet of Dr. Caligari,; and a wonderful Charlie Chaplin caricature/autograph. I only wich I had had the time to go through their extensice film and publication ligrary! The Musee (and attached theater) is a short train ride from Paris and has a very nice little cafe attached. I recommend it highly.
  • Not very big, but it contents historical, cultural knowledge about film with cinemaic atmosphere. Upstair was another temporary exhibition which was Japanese film, I cannot fine the showreed list which was screening clips there. But it is a worth experience if you are a film lover.
  • Nothing too crazy to see here. The bookstore is neat and the museum exhibit is quite underwhelming.
  • sometimes they invite film directors to discuss films, awesome!

Where to stay in Paris

Each of the city’s 20 arrondissements, or districts, has a personality all its own. If you prefer high-end accommodations and to be in the middle of the action, look for lodging in the 1st through the 4th arrondissements. For more affordable lodging and access to major metro lines, try the 12th. The Oberkampf area of the 11th arrondissement has an edgier, more hip vibe. For easy access to tourist sites,  the 16th is within a stone’s throw of the Arc de Triomph and the Eiffel Tower, and the 17th is within walking distance to the Champs-Elysées. Avoid the 18th, 19th, and 20th, because these can be dangerous, especially if you’re not familiar with the city.
