  • This church is located opposite the place of Abbesses in the 18th arrondissement, at no. 19 Street of Abbesses. It is innovative because in 1900 she appealed to new techniques of reinforced concrete covered in red brick cladding; It was built under the direction of the architect Anatole de Baudot disciple of Violet Leduc she has a beautiful façade simplicity with a large Bell Tower in the form of rectangular panel, which overcomes the portal; The whole is decorated ceramic architectural beauty, with volutes and A stacked hoops then this construction triggered fierce opposition and failed to be demolished, which explains the construction of 1834 to 1915 period! Today she does not go unnoticed in this setting of Montmartre and adds a prestigious piece of architecture. The Interior is equally amazing, with a nave with metal structure and a large canopy inspired Art Nouveau. The stained glass window above the altar represents the crucifixion and is beautiful. The high altar is made of Board inlaid polychrome ceramics with medallions, inspired by Eastern styles. Pretty painted frescoes lining the bottom sides; But I found this church, despite a few glass windows, lack of light, by the absence of large side opening. It's worth a visit because it is unique in its kind! Access is by the metro station "Abbesses" line no. 12

  • This building was built between 1894 and 1904, then was listed as Historical Monuments in 2014. Reinforced concrete, brick and ceramics were used, creating a new Art here. Inside, you can admire many stained glass windows, the two towering statues stoup at the entrance, the murals, mosaics... A nice visit. Direct access to the output of the Abbesses metro station, line 12.

  • The exterior red brick of this church belies the wonder that are inside. The reinforced concrete structure has been built into the hillside. There is wonderful wood work, mosaics and vaulting inside. The exterior does have minimal amounts of Art Deco elements, apparently they ran out of funding. Neat stop when at the Place du Abesses at the foot of Montmartre.
  • For a really different and surprising church.
  • A beautiful church.

  • Never went inside the church, but the area is great.
