At Chapelle Notre Dame de la Medaille Miraculeuse in 1830, Saint Catherine Labouré saw three visions of the Virgin Mary, mother of Jesus. In one of those visions, Mary asked St. Catherine to create a medal with the following invocation: "O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee." The faithful believe the medal, known as the Miraculous Medal, can protect them from harm and perform miracles. The chapel now serves as a shrine for pilgrims. Here you will find the graves of St. Catherine and St. Vincent de Paul, founder of the Sisters of Charity, who operate the shrine. Chapelle Notre Dame de la Medaille Miraculeuse is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our , international travel planner Edition.

  • This was a really beautiful place, one of the hidden secrets of Paris. I have visited this many times because I lived near-by and an early afternoon when tis is not so crowded is really nice...

  • Beautiful sanctuary and place of pilgrimage.A must if you're a Christian and Catholic and worth the side track if you're visiting Paris.
  • Question: I live in the USA and would like to purchase a Miraculous Medal that is made their in Paris. Can anyone recommend a jeweler that makes these medals near the chapel?
  • Easy to miss the entrance so watch carefully. A beautiful place to visit, very well worth your time.
  • A lot of praying people, many attendees of the every weekday Holy Mass at 10.30. A place of pray and silence. Definately worth of spending some time there!
  • Google maps combined with t mobile made getting around in Europe unbelievably easy. Coverage seemed better there than here in the states!
