  • Since my last visit in February 2016, where the channel was dry due to cleaning, the operation is complete and the channel resumed its air and its usual activities. This place is really lovely and Nice, with its shady banks, its locks and bridges in donkey, that span the canal gracefully. It is pleasant to walk since the southern part accessible by the street of the suburb of the Temple until the place Stalingrad. The so-called place always also deteriorated with a bad busy atmosphere of "area". There will stop your pleasure! The banks are always also crowded, busy a ray of sunshine and it is good to stop in one of the squares that dot the course. The trees make a pleasant shade, and the atmosphere is casual. This channel has been created under the leadership of Napoleon in 1802 to supply water to Paris. But it will happen only in 1825 under Charles X. It is accessible by metro stations "Jaurès" North lines No. 2, 5 and 7B and "Republic" in the South, lines No. 3, 5, 8, 9 and 11 going up the street of the suburb Saint Martin on 100 m.

  • It is very romantic and very relaxing. You can't do anything other than just to sit and enjoy the ride. It is also very pleasant to take a walk along the Canal. You should look up to La Villette.
