#21 of 75 in Parks in Paris
Built during the reign of Emperor Louis Napoleon, Bois de Boulogne is a large public park near Boulogne-Billancourt and Neuilly-sur-Seine. The second largest park in Paris, it is three times larger than Central Park in New York. Stroll through an English landscape garden with several lakes and a cascade, two smaller botanical and landscape gardens, and a complex of greenhouses holding a hundred thousand plants. You also can find a zoo and amusement park in the Jardin d'Acclimatation, two tracks for horse racing, the Hippodrome de Longchamp and the Auteuil Hippodrome, a tennis stadium where the French Open tennis tournament is held each year, and other attractions. • There are 400 000 trees planted in the 19th Century. There are various gardens and 15km of cycle paths and 28km of bridle paths for horse riding and 125 hectares of forested lands. Best to visit durin...  more »
  • This is a very interesting park to say the least. On the one hand there’s couples and families enjoying all the lovely paths and scenery this park offers. Then on the other hand there are tons of pros...  more »
  • At first glance it is a beautiful forest nestled in among citizen, just at the end of Champees Elysee. Beautiful. Can walk, jog, cycle or ride a horse. In the early afternoon, at the exit of the Foundation Vuitton and heading toward Avenue Foch, passing through the Park pay attention and you can see: ladies "happy at work" with emergency location adjoining where carry out their duties in broad daylight; "waste" arising from such benefits thrown into small ponds or in the grass; homeless for carrying out their own punishment, garbage. To be one of the most famous parks needs just a nice clean.

  • A beautiful and huge woodland in the heart of Paris - Nature - many species of flowers, trees and other plants, lakes, ducks, geese, swans, resident dogs, garden benches, rowing boats, bars, snack bars and restaurants, people using their bicycles etc. Usually one finds parking spaces with ease in the streets, in the busy avenues is more difficult. Do not expect a friendly reception by the French, French are very boring, unfriendly, they work as if they were making a huge sacrifice and an overwhelming favor to you. Take with you potable water and snack, food and water in France cost the price of gold. Attention families: there are regions used by prostitution in vehicles parked along some stretches of avenues and access streets.
  • Lovely green space in the city with walkers, bikers, joggers. It's a beautiful peaceful walk along The Seine along the west side under the trees where the awesome houseboats are docked. One of my favorite days in Paris!
  • Definitely to do in Paris. Beautiful woods and you can visit Lomgchamp. Avoid the prostitutes though 😂
  • Very nice forest just next to Paris. There is a big park next to it good for walks and attractions for kids.
  • One of the 2 forests of Paris. Worth a visit. Try Challet des Iles restaurant, Jardin d'Aclimatation if you have kids or Louis Vuitton Foundation -great building and expos.

Where to stay in Paris

Each of the city’s 20 arrondissements, or districts, has a personality all its own. If you prefer high-end accommodations and to be in the middle of the action, look for lodging in the 1st through the 4th arrondissements. For more affordable lodging and access to major metro lines, try the 12th. The Oberkampf area of the 11th arrondissement has an edgier, more hip vibe. For easy access to tourist sites,  the 16th is within a stone’s throw of the Arc de Triomph and the Eiffel Tower, and the 17th is within walking distance to the Champs-Elysées. Avoid the 18th, 19th, and 20th, because these can be dangerous, especially if you’re not familiar with the city.
