Bastille, one of the more well-known squares in Paris, occupies an important place in French history. The Bastille Prison stood here until 1789, when it was stormed on July 14 during the French Revolution. No trace of the prison remains--it's now a large traffic roundabout--but Parisians still come here to raise their voices in political protest. In the middle of the square, look for the July column, which commemorates the three-day July Revolution of 1830. You can find plenty of bars, cafes, and nightclubs in the surrounding area. It is also home to the Opera Bastille, a pleasure-boat marina, and the Canal St. Martin. • From the Seine in Paris is now known as the place de la Bastille, Marais district on the north side of East end became revolutionary France Bastille prison. The former square, dry Memorial pillars in the middle. Now that space is roundabout to the Arc de Triomphe and many cars are running square. So, you cannot square although people are free to roam. In places such as felt, touched its history from prison remains without this place, have been little left to another location when visiting this place is not. Bastille Metro No. 1 line-item line, no. 8 line, gathered at Bastille Station and go through, new Opera House and a large market held in the area, is along the edge of Les Halles in the Marais district, West points.
