4.7/5 based on 45+ reviews on the web
A man-made lake surrounded by shops and historical buildings, Bassin de la Villette serves as an ideal spot for a leisurely stroll. Sunshine, fresh air, and the buzz of pedestrians infuse the shores with energy. Colorful parasols and long stretches of green lawns line either side, tucked below old tree canopies. Inaugurated by Napoleon Bonaparte in 1808, the lake quickly became the setting for many social events. Today, it functions as a hub of art, culture, and science, with cinemas, museums, restaurants, and pubs all within close proximity. The lake itself provides many water-based recreational activities, so consider renting a sailboat or kayak and getting out on the water. • It is a place can be seen relaxing in Paris. Is the boat, but is, and people playing sports, or those who come and go and read the book in a café in a loose atmosphere.

  • In the 19th arrondissement is also a City Beach, along the bassin de la Villette. You'll get there by metro, station Jaures. Very nice. This is more for the local residents, but just as much fun. Many fun activities for the children every afternoon at 5 am you can also dance on the deck, in the middle of the beach. Every afternoon a different theme, sometimes quite dancing, sometimes Zumba with the instructors of a gym nearby.
