  • Construction of the Church began in 1846 on a place, known as Bellechasse remained vacant after the subdivision of the gardens of the convents of the ladies of Bellechasse and the Carmelites de Grenelle, undertaken in the 1830s-1853, creating the streets Las-Cases, Martignac and Casimir Perier

  • Cute Gothic church, less than Notre Dame, but still impressive size, with a pleasant square in front of it.

  • Walking along the streets of Paris accidentally found this Basilica and were pleasantly surprised. We were in it alone, not a single person. Unlike Notre Dame, where crowds of tourists, here you can leisurely explore the architecture of the 19th century, stained glass Windows, antique organ. High spires, the abundance of sculptures and stone carving resembling lace. Above the entrance is a beautiful rose window.

  • Wonderful Catholic Church & square. Come to the mass on Sundays. This the most peaceful place in most of the world I know.
  • I have seen the spires from Rue Cler and we just happened to walk by on our way back from the Pantheon. Beautiful.
  • Beautiful & hidden in plain sight! Not on map unless you enter name Rivals Notre Dame for experience. Not as large but worth the trek. Near Rodin & Invalides
  • Personally I think it is more beautiful than notre dame, worth visiting!
  • To go walking through St Dominique you stay surprised with this lovely Basilica whose domes can be seen from R. Amelie. This church started to be built in 1846. Pointed Gothic style. Holy water batteries supported by angels are worth contemplating. Look carefully the cross carved in stone walls. Observe the Virgin with the child in 1804. Upon entering the church you will be impressed with the beautiful stained glass windows. It is worth to stay a while...
