A place of recollection that I enjoyed. With the rays of the Sun, the beautiful stained glass windows. St. Anthony of Padua, one of my favorite saints...

This minor Basilica is located Street Las Cases, in the 7th District, accessible also by the street St. Dominic and the metro line no. 12 "Solferino". It has a square on the main façade, said Samuel Rousseau, which houses the sophoras, Judea trees and chestnut trees. It is recognizable by its two slender arrows and his three porches, neo-Gothic, overcome to a large rose window in stained glass. The façade and porches are decorated with statues of Saints in niches, as was the case in the XIV century. It dates from the reign of Napoleon III, and was built between 1846 and 1857. This time is conducive to anything that evokes the middle ages, with Gothic, abandoned style in Paris since the Renaissance! It is therefore an order of the State. Many artist have been asked at the time to contribute to this building. You can see many low relief, including the way of the cross, paintings, statues, stained glass and sculptures. The nave is built with pillars to thin ribs with a warhead, very slender arch Vault. The high altar is made up of statues of saints on the base and is in gilded bronze. Decorative push-button bows seem to support the Church which is in the shape of a cross with a nave, a transept and a very decorated sanctuary with pinnacles. In fact this church has a metal structure, by Gustave Eiffel, who supports it, which explains the speed of its construction. Polychrome stained glass give clarity to that building, including by the ambulatory, which also contains many works of art. These stained glass windows are the work of the master glassmaker Emile Thibaut, one of the largest of the XIX th century many chapels are decorated with force details and murals with finely ornate altars. We find books of cabinetry with recessed windows. Finally the major organs are the master Aristide Cavaillé and have exceptional acoustic. The César Franck composer was the first organist. This Basilica is impressive when you're inside and you can relive the feelings of grandeur to the Gothic cathedrals of the XIV th century, then it is a building with already modern techniques.

Gothic Revival style, the building of this church spanned from 1846 to 1857 and was classified at the Historical Monuments in 2015. Outside, you can admire all the statues on the front and the eardrums of the front porch doors. Inside: the way of the cross in bas-relief, the high altar, the two large rose windows, stained glass windows, statues, chapels and altars and murals, the baptismal font, the organ... A very nice visit.

Wonderful Catholic Church & square. Come to the mass on Sundays. This the most peaceful place in most of the world I know.

I have seen the spires from Rue Cler and we just happened to walk by on our way back from the Pantheon. Beautiful.

Beautiful & hidden in plain sight! Not on map unless you enter name Rivals Notre Dame for experience. Not as large but worth the trek. Near Rodin & Invalides

Personally I think it is more beautiful than notre dame, worth visiting!

Where to stay in Paris

Each of the city’s 20 arrondissements, or districts, has a personality all its own. If you prefer high-end accommodations and to be in the middle of the action, look for lodging in the 1st through the 4th arrondissements. For more affordable lodging and access to major metro lines, try the 12th. The Oberkampf area of the 11th arrondissement has an edgier, more hip vibe. For easy access to tourist sites,  the 16th is within a stone’s throw of the Arc de Triomph and the Eiffel Tower, and the 17th is within walking distance to the Champs-Elysées. Avoid the 18th, 19th, and 20th, because these can be dangerous, especially if you’re not familiar with the city.
