Inspirock Rating:
4.1/5 based on 180 reviews on the web
Built for the colonial exhibition of 1931, the former Musée des Colonies retains the tropical aquarium, Aquarium Tropical de la Porte Doree, from this period. At this site, you can experience a learning trail, primitive and electric fish, and the ocean life of Asian waters and of Africa and South America. Don’t forget to check out the unforgettable shows featuring the crocodile pit, intimidating sharks, and deadly piranhas. The crocodiles were brought from Dakar in 1948, and other watery residents include cuttlefish and luminous deep-water species.

Aquarium Tropical de la Porte Doree also features a diverse collection of aquatic fauna and flora of the warm seas, and offers many activities for children and adults to help them better understand the aquatic life and the influences man has on the environment. • The aquarium is not huge, but the diversity of the species makes us forget. It is sufficiently interesting for young children and is a good alternative to the aquarium in Paris which is 4 times more expensive! No problem, I recommend it!

  • The variety of fish (and reptiles) is intessessabte, the panels under each animal are clear and accompanied by simple and Visual maps. The aquarium is infrequent and 5fois cheaper than the Trocadero! A tour at the Museum for a breakfast or lunch restaurant will not put you on the straw. In short, this place is ideal to spend half a day with or without children.

  • I went to the aquarium for the heritage days. Which isn't necessarily a good idea. I did have the chance to enjoy everything I saw. It's a shame because I think that there are beautiful specimens. 1 school playgrounds children are kings in this aquarium. It's louder than, the parents give up their children as if we were in a kindergarten. 2. number of fish in some aquaria, I had the sensation that the fish were too many. 3 indiscipline of the public the non respect of the photos without flash. They are "relatives" that I've seen go against these posters... In general, I am delighted to have discovered this aquarium. But I'm really disappointed with my visit. I saw staff welcoming and smiling but inactive in the face of their own rules. I liked the black stripe with white polka dots and the turtle with a pig nose.
