Aquarium Tropical de la Porte Doree, Paris

4.1
#7 of 14 in Zoos & Aquariums in Ile-de-France
Built for the colonial exhibition of 1931, the former Musée des Colonies retains the tropical aquarium, Aquarium Tropical de la Porte Doree, from this period. At this site, you can experience a learning trail, primitive and electric fish, and the ocean life of Asian waters and of Africa and South America. Don’t forget to check out the unforgettable shows featuring the crocodile pit, intimidating sharks, and deadly piranhas. The crocodiles were brought from Dakar in 1948, and other watery residents include cuttlefish and luminous deep-water species.

Aquarium Tropical de la Porte Doree also features a diverse collection of aquatic fauna and flora of the warm seas, and offers many activities for children and adults to help them better understand the aquatic life and the influences man has on the environment. • The aquarium contains a large amount of fish (clpwn Moon), and turtles, rays, crocodile. There are benches which allows all small children (1 to 4 years) to go and see. A room also contains the exhibition but is for adults (6/12 years). Stroller/disabled access to the Palace is possible with path and hoist but there are stairs tepp then down to the aquarium so the baby carrier is recommended. Coffee does not have high chairs and he doesn't mz seems not to have seen changing table but it's to verify.

  • After being disappointed by our visit to the Vincennes zoo by visiting fast and lean in presentation of species, we we are carried over to the tropical aquarium Museum out of spite as having planned the day, we had to have finished our visit to the end of 2 hours and a half. Little inspired by this new visit, we were pleasantly surprised by the place, indeed, unfamiliar places, we had a priori which turned out to be false. The visit and exciting and full of surprises, a trivial entry price compared to the quality of the site. The kids loved it and back at home, we were talking of our visit to the Museum of aquariums of the vincennes zoo. Recommend

  • In the series of architectural and cultural sites not to be missed, the Aquarium Tropical de Paris, arrives in my Top 3. Indeed, not only I appreciate the beauty of the Palace of the Golden Gate, but in addition, the species combined are exceptional. My son is a fan of crocodiles and alligators section!
