The 18th arrondissement, located on the Rive Droite, is one of the 20 arrondissements of Paris, France. It is mostly known for hosting the district of Montmartre, which contains a hill dominated by the Sacré Cœur basilica, along with the house of music diva Dalida and well known Moulin Rouge cabaret.The 18th arrondissement also contains the African and North African district of Goutte d'Or which is famous for its market, the marché Barbès, where one can find various products from that continent.GeographyThe land area of this arrondissement is exactly 6.005 km2 (2.319 sq. miles, or 1,484 acres).DemographicsThe population of Paris's 18th arrondissement peaked in 1931 with 288,810 inhabitants.   • Visit of the Castle red light district, street fishmongers, or found the colours and flavours of Africa. Possibility to buy products including Senegalese (Thiof) at reasonable prices, possibility to bargain. Unusual, to visit neighborhood.

  • This district includes part of the former municipality of Montmartre and the Chapelle.Il is to visit regardless of the sacred heart. Get off at the station Lamarck Caulaincourt, stop at the cemetery St. Vincent, where are buried celebrities, pass in front of the cabaret "agile rabbit", see the vineyards of Montmartre, the Museum of Montmartre, down the street from the Willows up to the Street Lepic and the place of the abbesses.
