11th Arrondissement, Paris

3.1
The 11th arrondissement of Paris is one of the 20 arrondissements (administrative districts) of the capital city of France.Situated on the Right Bank of the River Seine, the 11th is one of the most densely populated urban districts not just of Paris, but of any European city.DescriptionThe eleventh arrondissement is a varied and engaging area. To the west lies the Place de la République, which is linked to the Place de la Bastille, in the east, by the sweeping, tree-lined Boulevard Richard-Lenoir, with its large markets and children's parks. The Place de la Bastille and the rue du Faubourg St Antoine are full of fashionable cafés, restaurants, and nightlife, and they also contain a range of boutiques and galleries. The Oberkampf district to the north is another popular area for nightlife. The east is more residential, with more wholesale commerce, while the areas around the Boulevard Voltaire and the Avenue Parmentier are livelier crossroads for the local community. In recent years this district has emerged as one of the trendiest regions of Paris. On November 13th 2015, it was the site of coordinated shootings and bombings that left 132 dead.

  • This Department is bounded roughly by the square of the Republic in the North West and is the place of the nation to the South. We stayed during our stay. It's a trendy neighborhood where many quality restaurants. It is also very convenient to visit Paris with metro line 1 which passes to the South of the Department or even lines 3 and 9.

  • The 11 th is lively: pub, bar and restaurant and location compared to public transport. Ideal for families.

  • An area of Paris very excited and with much excitement. An area that has the famous Bataclan. A nightclub that has your name known by Brazilians as a result of the work of Jorge Amado. A part of Paris that deserves to be known walking its streets and drinking and feeling the atmosphere of its bars.

Where to stay in Paris

Each of the city’s 20 arrondissements, or districts, has a personality all its own. If you prefer high-end accommodations and to be in the middle of the action, look for lodging in the 1st through the 4th arrondissements. For more affordable lodging and access to major metro lines, try the 12th. The Oberkampf area of the 11th arrondissement has an edgier, more hip vibe. For easy access to tourist sites,  the 16th is within a stone’s throw of the Arc de Triomph and the Eiffel Tower, and the 17th is within walking distance to the Champs-Elysées. Avoid the 18th, 19th, and 20th, because these can be dangerous, especially if you’re not familiar with the city.
