Cosapel cosapelMagical place by its location, its history, restores more or less controlled, but especially the protection of relics which remain under a vine close to the Cathedral and will remain protected from tourist plundering. The building is in him even restored, all in honor of different owners, because there, according to the visit, private property, unlike other religious buildings. Very nice site to visit in this quiet natural, in the shade of a controlled vegetation.show original
Yz riqqThat's good! I come very regularly for years, in all seasons. For a simple stroll for a bite to eat, or to discover this magical place to friends. I have seen the evolution of the wines of the peninsula, bravo for the quality and effort on the bio. Big amateur of oysters, I make the trip from Montpellier as often as I can, the catch of the day is still excellent. For concerts, remember to book in advance to get the best seats.show original
Bernard AZEMAIt is a magical place and preserved by the agitation of the beaches and the agglomeration of Montpellier. This island was occupied since the Palaeolithic. The Greeks, the Etruscans, the Romans are left their footprints. Maguelone was the seat for nearly 1,000 years of a prestigious and powerful bishopric which presided over the creation of Montpellier and his University. Maguelone was destroyed twice almost completely. The last destruction remains - of the vast episcopal ensemble - a majestic fortress Cathedral. It overlooks ponds and sea in its greenery where quietly wander little fierce peacocks visitors. The place is now maintained by an ESAT (managed by the companions of Maguelone) that welcomes visitors.show original
