Le Domaine Oz en Oisans, Oz en Oisans
(4.3/5 based on 55+ reviews on the web)
Access two ski areas, one for beginners and one for experts, from Le Domaine Oz en Oisans. This small, quiet resort is perfect for families, particularly thanks to its pedestrian-only center. Beginners start out at Oz-Vaujany's blue runs, particularly Blue "Chevreuils," for a smooth ride along 70 km (44 mi) of trails. More experienced skiers who want the challenge of a black run can go to Alpe d'Huez grand domain ski--featuring the longest black run in the world. It starts from an elevation of 3,330 m (10,925 ft) and runs for 16 km (9.9 mi). Non-skiers or those looking for a day off should visit the tourist center for information on the many other things to do in the area. • When we want to afford a great ski day on the beautiful field of Alpe d'Huez, Oz in Oisans - just like Vaujany - represents an excellent access point. The station, in a wooded, is human-sized, and less aggressive architecture. Access is much faster, this avoids the long climb in the car, turns to the Alp and its immense car parks. We parked there without too much difficulty on the weekends. The lifts and multiple tracks in the forest are nice, especially when the top, more mineral, is in the clouds. Via the Poutran gondola allows you to quickly link to the Pic Blanc and the Sarenne switch to Vaujany, or back down to Alpe d'Huez. Back to the station, quite central in the field, is fast on good tracks. The resort offers everything you expect to refuel to eat. A few off tracks in the forest nearby. Altitude lower than in Alpe d'Huez allows to better accommodate snow and reach the road back towards Grenoble. A flat for non-skiers: you won't find in Oz the animation and the huge and beautiful landscape offers Alpe d'Huez on the sunny balcony.
