Orléans Cathedral, Orleans
(4.7/5 based on 800+ reviews on the web)
The stained glass windows at Orléans Cathedral depict the story of Joan of Arc who attended evening Mass in this cathedral on May 2, 1429 while in the city to lift the siege. Built in the Gothic architectural style from 1278 to 1329 and partially destroyed in 1568, the cathedral was moderately rebuilt from 1601-1829. Despite renovations, some ancient remains that date back to the fourth century can still be seen in the crypt. • Inside: nave, side aisles, transept, choir section, stained glass,... but this time with an exhibition of nurseries all made by individuals as part of Top crib. Have until Sunday, December 18, 2016! You can even vote for its favorite nursery! At the end of the night, you can also see a few lights projected on the façade of the Cathedral... Outside: decorated stones, towers of 88 metres high and three rosettes, Bell Tower with a height of 114 meters.

  • Still a misunderstood and yet one of the most beautiful Cathedral. The color animations are frequent in the evening, which gives an extra attraction.
