  • After the small effort of the climb, the visit is very interesting. We don't count the number of market, there are everywhere, it goes up, down, goes, it goes down. And finally, we're back down through the underground tunnel of a thousand markets.

  • We went to visit the city, Villefranche-de-Conflent already in itself is magnificent, with a special charm with just two streets! In the tourist office was recommended to visit the Fort Liberia, we got to walk, the climb is print, 30 min long ascending. the fortress is now private, you pay 7€ / person, but it is worth, this very well explained, in several languages and they are very correct. Once just the visit have the option down stairs underground to the city, if you see yourself wanting to, make it real! still hurt the legs when I remember it, but was quite an experience to go down... its 700 steps...

  • The cces is a 4 x 4 (add €3 per person), but the best is to do feet (20 min). The view is breathtaking once upstairs! The visit is very nice, the site is beautiful. The descent is by the underground (it makes your calves!)

  • Beautifull fort at the top of a mountain with good views and a tour around the place
  • Many, many years ago, when I was young and agile, my husband and I stayed in the town at the confluence of the three rivers (Villefranche-de-Conflent) and I tried to climb to the fort every day by a different route. The best and hardest was straight upon a small path cutting through brambles, rocks and every other obstacle - exhilarating. I wish I could do it again, but I'm delighted that I had that memorable daily experience. One day my husband met me at the top with a picnic lunch and we sat in front of the fort and looked down at the marvelous town below. In its way - excuse the visual pun - it was a high point in our stay in Villefranche. I don't remember that the fort was open, but it was worth the trip in any case.
  • A nice strong, well restored. Restaurant and "tourism" Yes of course, but it is a private company and must be the means for maintenance. The key is to find happiness. You can go on foot, vertical drop of 300 m steep, or 4 x 4. The descent can be done in the same way or by the underground stairway said "1000 markets".

  • Super fort. We took the path to mount (attention high elevation but possible even with children). Then a very nice strong with good explanations on a leaflet provided. A wonderful view of the village and the Valley. We are descended through the underground 1000 markets (watch the calves the next day!)
