He spent without incident and the wars of Religion, then the French Revolution. It is still in very good condition and very well maintained by the winemakers of Monbazillac. Without being very imposing, the castle of Monbazillac is well "planted" on its Hill; it dominates the appellation Monbazillac vineyards that surround it. Her beauty does not take its domestic luxury but rather his sobriety and his beautiful stones. However, we can admire inside one very beautiful floor, a ceiling to the French and a very beautiful Winery. We also liked the maps of time and ubiquitous family trees. On the other hand, we have less the favorite for the room dedicated to the caricaturist SEM and still less the "Modern Art" that has left on our hunger. We finished our visit with a stop at the Monbazillac cellar where we could taste 3 wines for sale.show original

A superbly restored château with beautiful gardens and views. Wine tasting is including in the visit. Highly recommended.
The view over the vineyard is the only interesting part of this castle, otherwise it's quite empty, the rooms have been re-furnished and oddly redecorated (hideous paintings that seem to have been done by a particularly unskilled art student). It clearly doesn't worth it's money (7,50€) and I would simply call it a tourist trap.
Winesbare very good,as you can have a taste before you buy and the sales lady are very helpful
