  • The building is imposing and endearing! This fortress dominates majestically the city with all its "weight". I put excellent, this can maybe shock some who find that parts are empty and other, but a castle open year-round and more with a low entry price, I've not seen a lot and yet I have visited a few! The small museum inside is minimalist but what it reminds us of memories of childhoods! Good continuation.

  • The so-called street of Sully being totally impassable for the work, it is very difficult for tourists to arrive in the vicinity of the Castle. The Château Saint-Jean built from the 10th to the 13th century on the heights of the city, was completely burned down by the British in 1428, during the hundred years war. Only remains the Dungeon until the 15th century where the young ladies of Armagnac made restoring the Castle and build the two entrance towers. In 1624, Sully had built a small house of Louis XIII style. During the French Revolution, the Castle served as a prison and almost disappeared then serving as career but he was saved in 1843. Since 1959, it houses a museum on architecture and art history in the 19th century, as well as a museum on the second floor dedicated to the life economic, industrial and rural of the Perche.

  • Good place to while away a few hours in Nogent Le Rotrou. Views from the Chateau are good. Not as geared up for the international tourist as some Chateaus but still a pleasant way to see some culture.  more »
  • pretty nice castle, ib Poland it would be one of the bigfest attractions. Here no one even care more about this beautiful building.
  • A beautiful castle overlooking the town in which we can see some exhibitions. The castle is open nearly everyday.
  • Beautiful château.
  • A welcome sight and break from a hot cycle ride!
  • I agree with Vincent Doblin. Even though the visit of the castle looks short, should be a little better mark this Museum starting the visit by the kitchen story medieval life in the perche, continue with a walking tour out to the Dungeon and the fortifications and eventually the m worn out of the boom.
