Place Garibaldi, Nice
(4.1/5 based on 1,400+ reviews on the web)
A monumental example of Baroque architecture, Place Garibaldi spreads across the area between the old town and the town center, lined by Roman-style buildings. This spacious square was designed by Antoine Spinelli, who also worked on the beautiful Chapelle du Saint-Sépulcre, which is visible from the square. Visit the cafes and try the excellent local seafood. From here, take a tour of the harbor of Vieux-Nice, the municipal theater, or the Modern Art Museum, which are all in walking distance. • Other than the main square of Massena Rosetti and Garibaldi Square, and both are in and small squares of the old city. Garibaldi most on the outside. Spend time in pleasant surrounding cafes and restaurants. My advice is called Cours Saleya flower market-facing cafes to pass the time.
