  • This museum was small and underwhelming. Not at all worth the €10 fee. The museum was going to be closed the next week which was fully disclosed online. However, when we visited they were already taki...  more »
  • Although the entry fee for this museum was only €10, we still felt it was poor value for money. The exhibits were a few bits of paper cut out by Matisse but not used, and a few doodles. Extremely unde...  more »
  • I love Matisse's work and this was a wonderful opportunity to see it in a "concentrated" form. I enjoyed every minute of the visit! Art lovers should not miss it!  more »

  • Beautiful setting and building and so authentic to the art and artist. Loved learning about Matisses beliefs about objects as contextual actors. Loved seeing the photos of the artist. Just wish there had been a little bit more art from the middle of his career. But it was beautiful!
  • Where are the paintings? Sadly to say but this half day was such a waste. Matisse is one of my favourite painters and we all looked forward to seeing some of his greatest artwork at THE Matisse museum in Nice. The collection displayed constrains mainly plain sketches and none of the known artwork except for maybe one less known artwork for larger walls. The museums' boutique has pictures and posters of the top paintings or artwork which then becomes absurd since NONE of these are displayed at the museum. Do not waste €10 here.
  • A nice museum surrounded by a very beautiful garden of olives. The other monuments and buildings placed in the area of Cimiez offers us a very attractive wolk and visit.
  • The museum didn't quite match my expectations raised by the famous painter's name. But it was worth the trip as I saw a really nice part of Nice and learned about Matisse' life. The ticket of EUR 10 can be used to visit other regional museums for 24h.
  • Interesting concept in a delightful building and location. Just don't expect much art.
