  • Nice place and also nice building but expected more in the different spaces of the museum for example different languages... The entrance cost 10€ but if you are student is free. Also there is so close the cementary where does it rest Henry Matisse. I recommend to clean a little bit the space was dusty. -Nice site but I expected more in the different spaces in the Museum. For example: different languages,... Admission is € 10, but if you are a student it is free. In addition, you can find nearby cemetery where it rests Henry Matisse. I would recommend a little cleaning spaces because it was full of dust

  • Matisse Museum to honor the artist's whole cycle safely. On display is the work of any genre, and even the best paintings. As a leading figure in the masters of fauvism painted the works are rich in color and life to the fullness of his. The Museum of the essence of a very beautiful Nizzalaišen art community life of the era. A visit to the Museum under construction at the time of the artist's haudall at a nearby cemetery.

  • Great variety of his work, from pencil drawings to sculpture to oil paintings. Set in a grand house on the hill. Take the number 15 or 17 bus from town centre, and good cafe in the park too.  more »

  • We came here after visiting Chagall museum, so our expecations were highs but were got really disappointed. The museum is not bad, but the are not much things to see and from a painter famous like Matisse we expected more. Lucky for us we entered for free as we are students.
  • In his former home in Nice, you can find the Matisse Museum. Outside of him being one of my favorite artists, you can see the simplicity of his life and work by being in his home. They have some ancient Egyptian statutes and other artifacts that Matisse acquired in his lifetime. It is a must see if you make it to Nice.
  • Mixed feelings here. We went in April and it was quiet. It's a lovely building and nicely laid out. It's lacking the best works of Matisse. However no photographs at all allowed. Most other places do, so I returned with nothing to help my memories - I really do despise this
  • * beware, the ticket office closes at 5:30p and they will not let you in + this tidbit isn't posted anywhere so they turned us away as rude as they possibly could ... the lady got so tired of listening to me plead to get in that she said "I don't speak English (in perfect english) * if I could give it zero stars I would and not because of the artist and his works but because of their terrible customer service. extremely rude and had no compassion for our situation. we arrived at 5:35p and they wouldn't sell us a ticket even though the museum closes at 6p. *** we did talk with a couple locals that said this museum isn't worth it but we do love his art so had to make the effort regardless *** we also told them that we're leaving on a plane tomorrow but they wouldn't budge. all three of them just shook their heads and turned us away. very sad as we really wanted to go but it seems that little rules like that ticket offices closing should be posted somewhere...frustrating
  • Lovely museum! Very friendly staff and in a beautiful location. Be sure to grab a coffee in the park after your visit.
