View a famous series of 17 religious paintings, which Chagall offered to the French state in 1966. The museum hosts exhibitions on world religion, as per Chagall's wishes. • This is not surprisingly a museum only with art from Marc Chagall. I think all paintings are inspired by the Bible. Takes roughly an hour to see it all, and it was a nice hour :-).  more »
  • If you are an admirer of Marc Chagall's works you will not be disappointed with a visit to this museum. Plan on a two to three hour time allotment for your visit.  more »

  • Great museum. Love Chagall of course which helps. The little cafe is delightful as it is outside. However it ain't cheap and over the course of a few visits we have been overcharged each time so check bill carefully
  • The art itself, as well as the building and the grounds were gorgeous. I love Chagall's works. I was not at all impressed with paying 10 euros (website lists 8 as fee) and having bathrooms, with no soap, no towels, broken hand dryer. In addition, you receive not a single brochure or any info at all about the art. Staff hassled me when entering the second building because I could not immediately locate the ticket in my purse. Then a security guard refused to allow me to keep my water bottle in my purse, told to drink all of it before entering..... After i had just walked 30 minutes to get tbere in June heat.....just unbelievable rude staff.
  • Wonderful way to spend an hour. It's a lovely building and garden. The art was spectacular. I highly recommend using the audio tour ( it's free with entry and exchange of ID)
  • Absolutely beautiful museum. Wonderful collection of work, including sculptures and the sketches that led to them. Give yourself plenty of time to get through it all.
  • This museum was well worth the long, sweaty walk uphill. Chagall's art fused modern ideas with a staunch commitment to the faith, and the works did convey something quite spiritual. Having not known much of his work prior to the visit, I found it to be immensely enjoyable. (and if you are not on a hard travel budget, the taxi ride from downtown is fairly quick.)
