  • Surprising gorgeous little walk through cobbled streets with nice shops and restaurants, the best is the beautiful architecture and the peaceful pedestrian stroll - look for the well known Nantes masc...  more »
  • Nearly three centuries of various and varied work on this real old Island, gradually conquered, despite many technical, financial and social difficulties. A priori, it is well, very large pedestrian areas, relaxing places, many elements of the past into testimony, remarkable buildings... But... There is a "but", gradually emerged in recent years, amounting to a form of insecurity. Elements of the local population and some "guests" of the suburbs create a climate sometimes troubled, even disturbing, passers-by, "dealers" barely concealed, various provocations invective... Despite an intense tourist some days. Our visit was a little disturbed by this unexpected context in the city of Nantes (for tourists), the comments of several traders making that strengthen our impressions. Nothing alarming yet, but... There's this but... and we hope that the local authorities will seize. It would be a pity that this so typical neighborhood will eventually lose its charm and its quiet.

  • Since the houses were built on sand (old channels were filled) they have lowered himself partly and one wonders how well pictures on the walls are attached
