A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Place Stanislas is surrounded by some of Nancy’s best-known buildings, including city hall and the opera house. Visit this charming square with its grandiose fountains and wrought-iron gates for a sense of France in the 18th century. The square is named after King Stanislas Leszczynski of Poland in honor of his son-in-law Louis XV. At its center is a statue of its namesake created by Georges Jacquot: King Stanislas stands dressed in flowing robes, holding a sword in his left hand and pointing toward the north with his right. Light ochre stones pave the square, with two lines of darker stones forming a diagonal cross motif. Many festivals and assemblies are held here throughout the year. Such an elegant and beautiful square! Architecturally, this is really lovely, with pavilions, important buildings, gilded railings and lamps, and, in the middle, a statue of Stanislaus.

The square is simply beautiful with a lovely atmosphere. The cafe are typically touristy but very enjoyable for a drink.

Very very beautiful place with all these lights and all this animations particularly at 10pm when the big wheel open and the streets dancers come and open. That is just great. But if you don't like to be surrounding by many people, you have to come on the day when tourism animations like car ride are still open

Beautiful place, spectacular architecture, great exposition of plants, a lot of places to have a break for lunch or having coffee. And, a great park nearby. Highly recommend.

Superb historical square in the heart of Nancy. A must see on your list in the Lorraine region. The gates and the fountains are also a must see. Loads of restaurants and pubs there as well as the Tourism office, a museum of art, the regional Opera house and a luxury hotel.

Beautiful! Very nice from all perspectives, plus nice cafes around to sit and enjoy the time in Nancy. Sunny day it is really perfect. Very nice architecture, beautiful buildings, very impressive.

A beautiful place, especially at night, when mystical illumination creates a unique atmosphere. The golden ornaments of the gates, fountains and lanterns create a specific and magnificent view of this large square. I was really charmed.
