Calling all car enthusiasts! Cite de l'Automobile is the largest museum of automobiles in the world with 500 vehicles, including 464 cars from 98 different makers. This one-of-a-kind museum also boasts the famous Fritz Schlumf collection, which dates from 1878 to the present day, as well as the largest collection of Bugattis in the world. The museum itself is located in an old 1880s mill. Founded by two Swiss-born brothers, Fritz and Hans Schlumpf, the collection gained its first acquisition back in the early 1940s during the second World War. The brothers continued to build their collection over the years, and it wasn’t until 1977 that the public became aware of the collection. Not only is it the largest collection of automobiles, but it has been described as the most prestigious collection. • Hugh collection of classic and vintage cars. There is so much to see, almost too much. Most cars have some interpretive material. There is an audio guide that covers some, available in English, and offers some additional background information. There are some interesting additional exhibits. There is chance to drive some cars around their short circuit. The food from the cafe was nice enough. If you like older cars you should go.
  • Awesome collection and neatly presented! We realize were missing the Lambo way after we got back to the hotel, Bugatti was there anyways.😁 The museum offers you to drive beautiful classic cars and some new ones...take advantage of it! (though it comes with a price yet not pricey).
  • Amazing collection of antique cars. If you love Bugatti, Mercedes and the origins of F1 racing and rally cars you'll be in heaven. A fee for parking. Reason entry fee. Nice restaurant and plenty of bathrooms. You can do 7 circuits of a race track in a vintage sports car for about 70 euros. Marvel at the world's fastest car...the 3 million euro Bugatti.
  • If your into cars. Or even if your not. If in Mulhouse it’s a must. Amazing array of old (really old) and new cars. You can even (at extra cost) drive some around a track.
  • If you love cars or even just like shiny things, you should go to this museum. This is a dream to everyone who loves cars. The museum is beutiful and interesting. Would recommend bringing extra 100euro for taking the Ferari or one of the vintage cars for a spin.
