  • If you want to visit the cellars of a quality vineyard: Welcome to the Maucaillou Château! The tour is interesting, wonderful wineries, tasting: a treat! Glass with which you've been drinking you will be offered according to a Bordeaux tradition of most of the nearby castles... The Maucaillou Château is a remarkable bourgeois cru, which according to experts is equivalent to a grand cru class... Excellent quality / price

  • Visited the Chateau with 3 friends with the intention of purchasing 4 cases, having seen the wine recommended elsewhere. When we asked to taste, prior to confirming our purchase, we were told that there was none available to taste and that we would have to buy a bottle in order to do so. When we said that we were surprised at this, given the number of tastings and tours the Chateau organises, we were sarcastically told that since we were so polite we could try a completely different wine from a different year, with fundamentally different characteristics to the wine we intended to purchase. This is a commercialised money machine that omits the charm and elegance of Bordeaux and its wineries. For a much more authentic experience with delightful wine and superb customer interaction, we visited and would highly recommend Chateau Biston-Bruillette, Chateau Paveil de Luze (including a tour round the Chateau) and Chateau Haut Breton Larigaudiere.
  • It is a really nice and romantic Chateau. It looks just like the picture you see! You get to stay in one of the rooms inside for a very reasonable cost. They prepare a simple and pleasant relaxing breakfast for you in the mornings as well. The grounds are gorgeous for taking pictures or just hanging out chilling.
  • Excellent!!!

  • I live in the South of the Médoc and I have made many visits to castles in the area this Saturday 21/10 I was receiving friends from the Pyrenees who intended to leave the trunk of their car loaded of "good Bordeaux". We had appointment at 4: 00. A because of tourists arrived late before us and we have been asked to join the group. Compared to castles still standing, the Maucaillou chaix is "dated" and makes you do not want to. The tasting offered a very unpleasant 2011 in the mouth and has scared away our friends. So very wrong calculation. In summary we feel the message "make money at a minimum" the only satisfaction has been our guide who did his job with professionalism.
