Come to Chateau de Montresor to view a rare collection of French and English 19th century firearms and 16th - 19th century weapons. Built by Fulk Nerra starting in 1005, this medieval fortress has a 15th century Renaissance mansion built on the grounds and a garden surrounding the property. The original furniture and interior from 1849, including trophies representing hunting and sporting awards from around the world, can be found to this day. • Beautiful small village, and very quiet. The chateau guards over the town, and is visible from just about everywhere.
  • One of our favourite chateaux to visit in the Southern Touraine area of the Loire Valley.Real lived-in feel (because it is) with well furnished rooms. You have the added bonus of its setting in one of the 'Les-Plus-Beaux-Villages-de-France'

  • Truly beautiful. Not mentioned in many travel guides but a must to visit!
  • The castle is not very well maintained and very interesting unless you like hunting trophies. Not worth the price of entry (€8).
