Chapelle Saint-Aubert, Mont-Saint-Michel

(4.1/5 based on 100+ reviews on the web)
Set atop a rocky outcropping protruding from the main island of Mont Saint Michel, Chapelle Saint-Aubert owes its existence to a supposedly sacred rock. Built during the early 8th century, the small chapel serves as a haven from the bustle of the rest of the island. Make your way to the chapel, constructed in unassuming fashion out of stone, by traversing the set of steps connecting it to the rest of the island. Enter the building and admire its simple interior, featuring a small altar and a few arched windows. Be sure to bring your camera when you visit, as at low tide the view of the chapel from a distance will give you appreciation for how well it has survived over the centuries against the ravages of the surrounding ocean. • a place with a special charm, something that wanted to visit since my first time I went to France, already done 25 years or more. It is a place to relive history. Attempts to go on dates, that is August, because but not to enjoy it with the marabunta of people that exist, but still is very cool and great story.

  • Tiny little chapel hidden on the least accessible side of the island. You can get here only with low tide
  • You can almost feel the place and how it was to live there.
  • A beautiful chapel!
  • Cool hidden treasure!
  • Pretty little chapel at the foot of Mont-St.-Michel.
