Gorges d'Heric, Mons

4.7
#6 of 14 in Nature in Herault
Over many eons, the river Heric carved Gorges d'Heric, deep natural grooves with unusual rock formations and waterfalls. The grooves run through scenic mountains, plateaus, and valleys. The most famous features include the Abyss of Cherry, The Minarets, and The Cascade of Cherry. The cliffs are popular among climbers and hikers, as well as those who are fascinated by unusual natural features. • Great walking with nice paths. Views superb. Need to be fairly fit and take plenty of water and snacks!  more »
  • Very nice site with a view over the mountains of Caroux. Nice ride on a very well passable road. Possibility of swimming when there is enough water in the Creek!

  • Great site in the middle of nature. Road to the village of Heric. We went with 2 strollers... 300 meters of uneven positive on 5 km. Scale 1:40 and 50-55 minutes downhill. To do alone, with family, with friends, in a group.

  • Very nice walk through the gorge
  • Great place Cooling
  • Beautiful gorges! Parking at the entrance, it will cost € 3.50 for the day for a vehicle. You must then walk on a concrete trail. The small beaches will be accessible very easily by the roadside. However, I advise you to have good sneakers, stepping on the rocks can be hazardous by place.

  • Heavenly place! Wild place where nature has clearly all rights. Provide good Sandals for walking and swimming. Swimming in crystal clear water. See and do absolutely in the Hérault. 5 km (so 10 km round trip). Feasible with children (mine loved). Arrival, you are welcomed in a beautiful mountain cottage where you can have a drink in the shade. The big downside of this House is that it is not powered by running water... so no of toilet! A toilet dry (green, with the sawdust) is not a luxury! The snack bar has the entrance of the Gorge (near the parking lot) is clearly worth the detour, ultra nice, drinks and snacks very democratic. A simple example: we ate a delicious cheese slate for only €5! (See photo)

  • Path, even with a buggy. En route was beautiful beaches to stay put or have a rest. Always with the sound of water and birds around you.
