  • Nice cool place to walk or read
  • . . I like Mimizan a lot, despite the pong you sometimes get from the Papeterie Gascogne. But the very very best of Mimizan is this Promenade Fleurie - the Floral Walk. We go to it whenever we're in the area - can't wait for next summer! It's free. It has parking. At the other side of the little river, 2 minutes' walk from the car park, there's somewhere you can have a picnic. It's just lovely! It's a small park - only about 500 metres by 30 metres, alongside the lake. It has two paths, there and back, lined with flowering shrubs and exotics. You see the lake, you see ducks, you see and smell the flowers - it is a great experience. It is not in Mimizan-Plage but in Mimizan-Bourg. As you drive alongside the Lac d'Aureilhan, in a SW direction, you'll see a signpost to it on the left (lake side). You drive for 200 metres up a suburban road, and there it is. You could combine this with a picnic, and then go and hire one of the little electric boats that let you glide over the lake almost silently, really appreciating the peace and quiet. And end up with a swim from the little lake beach. A great day out. .
  • A very nice relaxing and quiet, lovely walk for the eyes. Don't forget the camera! We have a past a short but good time :-)

  • a beautiful well maintained site. many species of flowers. Guidance on their very useful name. The Lake on the edge of the promenade is a very fine setting. See from late May until autumn
