Le Chemin du Calvaire, Megeve
(4.8/5 based on 120+ reviews on the web)
Fourteen chapels and oratories represent Christ's passion at Le Chemin du Calvaire. This pilgrimage site, constructed by Ambroise Martin, was built to simulate Jesus Christ's suffering on Calvary in Jerusalem. Walking to the site gives time for quiet meditation, but to get inside the chapels, you'll need to arrange for a tour guide. On your way out, look for "Le refuge du Calvaire," a small restaurant with a terrace. Put Le Chemin du Calvaire on your schedule, and learn what else deserves a visit by using our Megeve vacation route planner.

  • We stayed in a hotel at the foot of Mont d'Arbois. After skiing we descended us relax via this pedestrian snaking through the center of Megève. A real pleasure combining quiet and scenery of beautiful cottages. The ascent is relatively steep.

  • I very regularly this circuit from the village, 15 minutes from rising quickly, otherwise count 20 or 25 minutes at an easy walk. Path paved all the way, accessible by mountain bike. Return by the same route, before the multiple chapels with a nice view over the village and the Valley of Arly.
