  • It is during an internship in Marseilles that I discovered this beach. The tourist season had not begun, and I discovered a fun place with of many restaurant around. A way pleasant to sit on a terrace of coffee after the working day, sipping a drink in looking at parents and children to have fun on the sand clean and well arranged. Another amenity of the morning going to work was to see in action on the side of the rock crab fishermen. Thanks to that my internship took a little holiday air.

  • These beaches are at the end of Marseille on the road of Cassis, several possibilities to get there by bus. It is close to the city while being cut off from the city. In the same direction we get up to the Monte Rosa range or there is possibility to naturism.

  • Don't expect to find a deserted Beach if it is close to the city, but when you get there you realize that a holiday scent is that breathes. Had been in the beach of the Catalans, in the Centre, where this piled-up people and here the beach is extensive, the beautiful waterfront, the amazing sea. There is no sand, is a type of split stone, which looks like a parking lot. You can go by boat from the old port, 5 euros, and walk to the beach, does not come in the first that is too small or collective, two euros, but you got that take two. We went on boat and returned by bus, walking the second stretch, instead of taking a collective 19. If rotation in collective note that all turn at the same time and are crowded. With kids and stroller is it complicated.

Where to stay in Marseille

The Old Port is near the water, seafood restaurants, and the not-to-be-missed museums. Hotels with sea views come with a price tag to match, though. For more affordable accommodations and local character, check out hostels and rental apartments in the Panier district. The Canebière neighborhood is in the heart of the action. For a more nature-oriented locale, a hotel near Garde Hill offers the nearby botanical gardens.
