  • The park that surrounds the Palais du Pharo is called Emilie Duclaux (per the sun as you enter). There is a gate with guards - but pedestrians can enter through the door gates on each side. There were...  more »
  • Don't miss this views from above the entrance of the port. It can also be a point where take relax together with the Marseillaise on the large lawn. Outside the park there is the possibility to withdraw/deposit bicycles of rent-bikes which is very cheap and the first half hour is free (less than 10 min to the old port)

  • a place that reminds you to Santander, but not so pretentious. Views of the city and the entrance of the port are faabulosas.

  • Peaceful and beautiful setting with lovely views of the entire area. Wouldn't mind having a conference here at all. The park on the grounds has an art sculpture and built-in seating. Great place for a picnic. There's also a small carousel and cafe on one side. No dogs allowed.
  • It offers a beautiful scenic view of the port in Marseille. Bring a book or a drink and absorb the stunning scenery. There's also a large green field to lie down, play soccer or just watch people go by.
  • Quiet place, great view to the port of marseille and the sea, open free till 21h Sumner time
  • Beautiful view towards the old port of Marseille, the mucem and the cathedrals!
  • Cool from the outside. Great view over the ocean.

Where to stay in Marseille

The Old Port is near the water, seafood restaurants, and the not-to-be-missed museums. Hotels with sea views come with a price tag to match, though. For more affordable accommodations and local character, check out hostels and rental apartments in the Panier district. The Canebière neighborhood is in the heart of the action. For a more nature-oriented locale, a hotel near Garde Hill offers the nearby botanical gardens.
