Musee Grobet-Labadie, Marseille
(4.4/5 based on 35 reviews on the web)
A former nineteenth century hotel today makes the Musee Grobet-Labadie, a fine art museum. The hotel was originally owned by the Labadie family. In the year 1919, Marie Grobet, the daughter of Alexandre Labadie offered the city the family art collection. It is with this collection that the hotel was transformed into a museum. Come and revel in the history and art of ages that now belongs to this house. The wonderful city of Marseilles also has great cuisine and wine to offer, making a complete French holiday. Musee Grobet-Labadie is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our international travel planner, Marseille Edition.

  • What a gem this small mansion or two collectors who brought together table from the tenth to the twentieth century (with painters of renown), furniture, porcellaine lived. Alas like many museums in Marseille he closed and don't know if it will one day reopen or never (as the Fashion Museum, the Museum of old Marseilles, the faience Museum..). This little Frick-collection is almost unknown to Marseille, two steps from the Palais Longchamps.
