  • Pretty small house in the city centre. Ideally, if you not only want to shopping. At the time of the visit, the Museum i. w. was filled with a special exhibition of glass art (Academy in Aix-en-Provence), which hardly convinced me.

  • Small Museum of contemporary art in a context of a beautiful building from the 17th century. There you will find artwork from the period 1900-1960, Cubism, Fauvism, the first type style with Expressionism and abstraction. Artists like Derain, Dufy, Masson, Ernst, Chagall, Picasso and others. In the various rooms there are also temporary exhibitions of contemporary art. The one I saw "Une Maison de Verre" was dedicated to the glass and the plastic arts CIRVA Center. For lovers of ancient art do not recommend it.

  • It's a small museum, in a beautiful place, certainly, but which presents exhibitions too small for my taste

  • Museum with a collection of wonderful art but not exposed because they have no budget for the safety of the parts. According to one worker. What you see is very good but can not see is the best

Where to stay in Marseille

The Old Port is near the water, seafood restaurants, and the not-to-be-missed museums. Hotels with sea views come with a price tag to match, though. For more affordable accommodations and local character, check out hostels and rental apartments in the Panier district. The Canebière neighborhood is in the heart of the action. For a more nature-oriented locale, a hotel near Garde Hill offers the nearby botanical gardens.
