  • Rousing introduction by a volunteer staff in the work and their responsibility in the Silk! The function of the looms has been explained to us and even presented. A special experience that is made possible by private initiative and I hope long will keep alive!

  • Who has not visited a workshop of Canute has not seen the heart of the Croix-Rousse. These workshops (one of trimmings and other weaving) plunge us into the heart of a century when silk was in undisputed mistress of this district. The first workshop, on the floor, is a Museum alone piece. Stakeholders, volunteers, are great qualities and find the right words to blow you away in this not-so-distant past. The purchase of object made of silk is possible. However, there will be, in the case of the second workshop tour, a time at the end of the visit to do. The second workshop immerses us in this difficult daily of the Canut: smaller workshop, with small mezzanine where barely lived a family. Here, we have discovered the tedious and exciting work of silk: how the Shuttle passes, how the Jacquard business works, how to recognize the manual work of silk to work in industry... In short, I can't recommend these two visits which will take you two hours of your time.

  • An association that shows how silk was made at the time that Lyon was capital of silk production. In addition to the historical part beautiful pieces and foulards to buy later.

  • Nice place but te workshop is done only in French (is only one visitor is speaking French)
  • Awesome. Whether it's individual visits or the workshop of weaving for child. We are both delighted. If you do not know, you have to go. Friendly, affordable, well-designed shop. Heritage essential and unquestionable.
