Place Bellecour, Lyon

(2.7/5 based on 1,000+ reviews on the web)
Place Bellecour is the third largest square in France and the largest pedestrian square in Europe. In the center of the square you’ll see the Sun King himself, Louis XIV, mounted on a horse in an extravagant and lavish pose. On the west side of the square is a statue of the Petit Prince and the book's author Antoine de Saint-Exupery. These two representations are reminders of the two opposing forces in French history: aristocracy and egalitarianism. The square itself was a vital symbol used by rulers to represent shifts in power by renaming the square with each new era: from kings, to conquerors, to guillotine, and back again. It is a great stop for panoramic photos and a view of some masterful French architecture. With our world travel planner, Lyon attractions like Place Bellecour can be center stage of your vacation plans, and you can find out about other attractions like it, unlike it, near it, and miles away.

  • We come to Lyon to see the illuminations and never we have been disappointed, the city dons light, movies or images. The only downside, the huge crowd, and restaurateurs who forget that the lyonnais are also in the city during these holidays and they stay the rest of the year and they could be future customers. Capita Sergeant Blandan Street, I decided to no longer go in bars or restaurants, based on the response provided during these holidays.

  • So straight aim here is not worth it. especially anything interesting. anyone here need? 1) if sunny and cool in the shade-a lot of light and heat, little wind. You can warm up. 2) fans wheels reviews. but only fans, it's not very clear what, not much above the houses. 3) fans. A small monument to the little Prince and the pilot set in the far corner of the square 4) If you have kids. Here are two good playgrounds, for all toddlers and older children. 5) on the square is a tourist center. otherwise a normal day I see no reason here to plod.
