Parc de la Tete d'Or, Lyon

Categories: Zoos & Aquariums, Nature & Parks, Outdoor Activities
Inspirock Rating:
4.7/5 based on 6,000+ reviews on the web
Parc de la Tete d'Or is 117 hectares (290 acres) of urban outdoor fun. The locals love it for jogging and cycling, while you’ll love it for boating, the zoo, and mini-golf. Construction of this city oasis began in 1812 and continues to the present day. The city adds exhibits every few years, such as an African Safari addition to the zoo in 2010. Although the park takes its name for a legendary treasure that may have been buried on its grounds, you’ll find that the real treasure isn't gold or diamonds but the serenity of the park’s environs. • A beautiful park located in the city center. It is a very nice and quiet place for family walks but also for a picnic

  • A wonderful and huge parc. Multiple entries with different themes. Contains a zoo with diverse animals. Has a botanic museum. Has also a floral garden. Playing ground for kids. A wonderful lake at its heart with the possibility of pedalling. An island at the heart of the lake. Excellent for jogging, biking. No bbq allowed though. Can be deemed romantic. Opens all day long. A third Lyon center after the city and Part-Dieu. Enjoy
  • This is a very large and beautiful park. Make plenty of time to devote proper attention to the various attractions such as the zoo and botanical gardens. This is an ideal place to have a pique-nique and relax on a sunny day. Toilets are actually free here, however there is often a queue. There are several food stands for you to get snacks but they are all sugary type snacks and beverages. Bring some bread and feed the deer in the park, and if you're lucky, the zebra will put on a show for you by prancing around.
  • A very large parc. This place is so peaceful. Definitely recommended to have a great time there. You will see animals, botanical garden, lots of people biking and walking.
  • Such a great park so close to the city! Heaps of things to see!
  • Marvelous place to spend time under the sun, lots of routes for runners, animal park for children to admire and a botanical garden !
