Les Halles de Lyon – Paul Bocuse is a covered marketplace with over 50 upscale shops and restaurants. Newly built in the 1960s, this is also a market with the best of Lyon's ingredients for the city's famous cuisine. Sausages, dumplings, and snails are hung, iced, and arranged just so to lure your eye away from competing vendors; this isn't the original market, but a reconstructed version. The original was built in 1869, but later was demolished. The locals missed a market where they could purchase the best goods directly from the origin, so it was reconstructed in its full glory and with modern improvements, such as spacious walkways. • This is the best market to come for a foodie. There are lots of high quality foods here such as the foie gras. The foie gras I bought from this market was better than some that I was served in restaurants. This is a playground for adults. When you come to Lyon, come here to buy food like meats and cheeses, then eat a dinner at home!
  • Great food market that's endorsed (and owned) by Monsieur Bocuse himself. Lovely to roam around in search for delicacies, but the food is generally pricier than other sources in the area. Great way to get all you need and more though!
  • Great selection of gourmet foods, wines, etc. Prices go from "reasonable" to "you have to be kidding me" very quickly. So either be choosy or be prepared to blow out your wallet. Worth a trip if you're in the area for sure.
  • It's a great place but if you're a tourist and stay somewhere central, then no need to visit as you will find similar stuff in the center too.
  • great place with locally fresh produce. the place consists of various restaurant, vegetables, cheese, cured meats, meat, seafood and pastries too. don't forget to take a look when you are in lyon.
