Le Mur Des Canuts, Lyon

(4.6/5 based on 750+ reviews on the web)
Le Mur Des Canuts transforms an ordinary street corner into an art gallery. Murals dot, and sometimes cover, the walls with depictions of the everyday people frozen in a moment. You may find a baker bringing her bread out to cool, a businesswoman rushing to work, or a child playing. All of the images reflect the dynamic energy and humor of the city in which they’re painted. Le Mur Des Canuts is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our international travel planner, Lyon Edition.

  • A must see when you are at Red Cross. This wall is perfectly integrated into the building so that want to use the stairs

  • The painted walls are a speciality of Lyon and it worth the visit. It will be difficult to distinguish between the real and the fake so the paintings are realistic. And you can spend long minutes to admire all the details.

  • Amazing artwork! They also have photos of how it looked previously when it was first painted.
  • Amazing, hadn't realized it was an actual painting until i touched it. Great wall of art
  • Belle oeuvre en trompe l'oeil.
  • Worth a detour, no wonder this is one of the most photographed spots in Lyon. On the left side of the building there is a set of panels documenting the changes to the paintings over the years.
  • Possibly the best painted wall in the whole Lyon. Loved the hallway documenting the changes over time in order to better represent the neighborhood. :)
