Le Mur Des Canuts, Lyon
(4.6/5 based on 750+ reviews on the web)
Le Mur Des Canuts transforms an ordinary street corner into an art gallery. Murals dot, and sometimes cover, the walls with depictions of the everyday people frozen in a moment. You may find a baker bringing her bread out to cool, a businesswoman rushing to work, or a child playing. All of the images reflect the dynamic energy and humor of the city in which they’re painted. Le Mur Des Canuts is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our international travel planner, Lyon Edition.

  • I was at the Croix rousse in search of the Mur Des Canuts but I didn't realize to be there before until I almost ran into such was the verosimoglianza of this trompe l'oeil. To be observed in detail to fully appreciate the quality

  • This giant murals must-see. The largest of these pictures made the walls of the building de Le Mur Des Canuts. It's like when painting technique is really what we have is perceived as this volume. But if you go too close to the picture, you can understand.

  • Amazing artwork! They also have photos of how it looked previously when it was first painted.
  • Amazing, hadn't realized it was an actual painting until i touched it. Great wall of art
  • Belle oeuvre en trompe l'oeil.
  • Worth a detour, no wonder this is one of the most photographed spots in Lyon. On the left side of the building there is a set of panels documenting the changes to the paintings over the years.
  • Possibly the best painted wall in the whole Lyon. Loved the hallway documenting the changes over time in order to better represent the neighborhood. :)
